Out British singer Sam Smith revealed late in 2014 that he was no longer single, admitting that he was seeing one of the extras who appeared in his video for ‘Like I Can’. At the time, he told The Sun:
“It’s very early days. I’m talking very, very, very early days. But he’s really sweet… he was one of 20 extras. It’s a surreal thing to be talking about because I haven’t even confirmed with him that we’re officially seeing each other.”
It looks like things have gone well since then though, as Smith has now shared photos of him and boyfriend Jonathan Zeizel together on holiday in Australia to celebrate New Year’s Eve, including the above take on a classic Titanic moment.
The two took advantage of the weather in Sydney with a boat tour of the harbor, though Smith has kept up his characteristically soulful expression throughout.
The singer also discussed the last year on Instagram, explaining that “2014 was the best year of my life so far,” and looking forward to 2015:
“I started my year so lonely and still fully in love with someone who didn’t love me back. Right now I feel so unbelievably loved back. You have all changed my life & I will forever be thankful. May we have many more New Years together. Can’t wait to see you all in 2015 and sing my ass off for you.”
