There’ll be a lot of disappointed gay America’s Got Talent fans today, as out singer (and L.A. local) Brian Justin Crum placed fourth in last night’s season finale.
Crum covered Michael Jackson’s ‘Man in the Mirror’ for the final, winning over the judges — even Simon Cowell said it was “really, really incredible.”
Still, it wasn’t enough to win over the voting public, who placed Crum fourth and gave the prize spot to 12-year-old singer Grace VanderWaal. She now wins a million dollars and a headline Las Vegas show.
Crum seemed to take the result in stride though, promising more to come in the future — and noting that when it comes to TV talent contests, first place isn’t necessarily all it’s cracked up to be.
I LOVE YOU GUYS!!! This is just the beginning!!

Before the results were announced last night, Crum took to the stage one last time to revisit his cover of Radiohead’s ‘Creep’. Check out his final AGT performance below, and keep an eye out for more from him soon.
